O Aston Villa jogou no terreno do Burnley no domingo à tarde, ganhando por 3-1. Depois do jogo, o autocarro da equipa visitante foi atacado por adeptos do Burnley enquanto já estava a caminho da autoestrada, causando danos ao autocarro devido a um tijolo que foi atirado.

O Burnley emitiu rapidamente um comunicado onde lamenta o incidente e expressou alívio pelo facto de ninguém ter ficado ferido. Um vídeo do ataque começou a circular nas redes sociais.

Burnley Football Club is saddened and dismayed to learn about an attack on the Aston Villa team bus at junction 10 of the M65 after today’s match.
